Where we ride

Al Badayer desert Dubai: getting to the red dunes

All our rides, from the KTM to the smallest kids quad, run in the Al Badayer desert Dubai riders know for its red sand dunes, 45–60 minutes from Downtown Dubai. Skip the transfer and the meeting point is emailed to you after booking; add one and the driver collects you 1 hour before your ride. Our JBR office takes bookings only.

01the ride area

One ride area: the red sand of Al Badayer

We keep it simple and ride in one place. The red dunes of Al Badayer host the KTM Dirt Bike 450 CC, all eight buggies and all eight quads, so a mixed group can book different machines and still meet at the same spot.

Quads come in two kinds of riding ground. Some models stay in the fenced area, a set space suited to younger and newer riders, which is where the 90 CC kids quad and the 220 CC COBRA ride, recommended for ages 9 to 12 and 14 to 17 respectively. The others head into the open deep desert. On the KTM, a guide rides with you. See the quad biking page for which quad goes where.

02drive time

Drive time from the city to Al Badayer desert

The road trip from Downtown Dubai takes 45–60 minutes. How long yours takes depends on where you start and on traffic, so give yourself room rather than cutting it fine.

If you book a transfer, the clock works backwards from your ride: your driver arrives an hour ahead of the ride. A 4:00 PM ride, for example, means being ready for pickup at 3:00 PM. Riding early or late is easier on the body in the desert, and you can choose any start between 5:00 AM and 8:00 PM.

03meeting point

How the Al Badayer meeting point reaches you

You do not need to search for a pin before you book. Once your order goes through, an automatic email sends you the meeting-point location together with your confirmation. Save that email on your phone, because it is the one place the exact spot is written down for your booking.

Driving yourself? Head straight to the location in the email and arrive with a little time to spare for the briefing and kit-up. Coming by transfer? You can ignore the directions: the driver knows where to go and drops you there.

04jbr office

Our JBR booking office, where no ride starts

Our office is at Al Fattan Marine Tower, Office No. 106, The Walk, Al Mamsha Street, Jumeirah Beach Residence (JBR). It handles bookings and questions. It is not a meeting point, and no ride leaves from it.

Please do not travel to JBR on ride day expecting to set off from there; the desert is a long drive in the other direction. For questions, our team is available 24/7 by phone, WhatsApp or email. The contact page lists every way to reach us.

05transfers

Getting to Al Badayer desert Dubai by transfer

Two transfer types sit on the booking form. A Private Transfer costs AED 450 per car and takes a group of 5–6 people, which suits families and friends travelling together. Sharing is AED 175 for each person and only works when at least two people are leaving from the same pickup location; if you are on your own, choose the private car.

Booking a BBQ camp evening? Only the private car can take you to either camp. From October to March the driver comes at 2:45–3:30 PM and you are home by 9:00–9:30 PM; from April to September the driver comes at 3:45–4:30 PM. All transfer and add-on prices are on the prices page.

FAQ

Questions riders ask

01 Do you ride anywhere other than Al Badayer?

No. All our rides take place in the Al Badayer desert Dubai area, among its red sand dunes, and we do not run rides in other desert areas. That keeps things simple: every machine, whether KTM, buggy or quad, starts from the same area, and your meeting point is always sent to you by email after booking. Any other desert area you may have seen mentioned does not apply to bookings made with us.

02 Can I start my ride at the JBR office?

No. Our JBR office (Al Fattan Marine Tower, Office No. 106, The Walk) handles bookings only. Rides start in the desert, 45–60 minutes from Downtown Dubai. On ride day, go to the meeting point in your confirmation email, or wait for your transfer driver if you booked one. If you are unsure about anything before the day, message us; booking help is available 24/7.

03 How early should I leave if I drive myself?

Allow at least 45–60 minutes from Downtown Dubai, then add a margin for traffic and for finding the meeting point in your email. Arriving with time in hand means you are ready for the safety briefing and kit-up rather than rushing into it. If you would rather not drive at all, add a transfer: you are picked up an hour ahead of your start and driven to the meeting point.

04 When do I get the meeting-point location?

Straight after booking. The moment your online order is placed, your confirmation and the meeting-point location are sent to your inbox. If the email does not arrive, check your spam folder first, then contact us with the name and email address you booked with. The safety and gear page explains what happens once you get there.
